Starting from a locksmith's workshop, the company produced many devices for the railway industry, automotive industry, arms industry, mining and provided industrial services. History of BELMA S.A. Bydgoskie Zakłady Elektromechaniczne

The ancestor of Bydgoskie Zakłady Elektromechaniczne "BELMA" S.A. was, in 1868 by Karol Fiebrandt, a locksmith's workshop located in Bydgoszcz at 11 Dworcowa Street. In 1898, the tenth workshop was moved to the Okole district, where it had the conditions for further updating. stem from the repair and production of simple agricultural machines, over time focused on the production of train traffic control devices. In 1899, the status of the workshop changed - it became a limited liability company. Over the years, the workshop transformed into a factory, which, as it developed, expanded its production profile to include new products.

about the PGZ capital group

PGZ S.A.'s priority is the broad participation of the Polish arms industry in the programs of the Technical Modernization Plan of the Polish Armed Forces in order to increase the country's defense potential, including the WISŁA program (medium-range air defense system), NAREW (short-range air defense system), ORKA (submarines) and other priority programs for the Ministry of National Defense. In addition, the Group modernizes and services vehicles, aircraft, helicopters and ships, including equipment from the former USSR.

PGZ also focuses on strengthening its position on international markets and developing export opportunities. The arms sector requires continuous technological development, which is why PGZ aims to transfer modern technologies from foreign contractors. To achieve this goal, the company is constantly building strategic alliances that accelerate the development of the defense sector within the framework of the Technical Modernization Plan of the Polish Armed Forces and increase Poland's defense potential. As a company established to ensure the country's security, PGZ dynamically responds to changes in the international environment and new forms of resolving conflicts accompanying the process of globalization, in order to ensure the safety of soldiers using PGZ equipment on the battlefield, as well as uniformed units and civilians.

PGZ offers, among others, a very short range air defence system with the POPRAD set and the SOŁA radar. The ROSOMAK wheeled armoured personnel carrier, proven in combat in Chad and Afghanistan, the RAK self-propelled mortar, the 155 mm self-propelled howitzer KRAB, considered one of the best in the world, the GROM portable anti-aircraft system and its successor PIORUN, a range of unmanned aerial vehicle systems and individual soldier equipment with the valued GROT Modular Firearms System. The wide range of products also includes personal equipment, C4ISR platforms, land, air and sea, as well as artillery and air defense systems.

Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa is the leader of Polish industry and one of the largest defense concerns in Europe. We bring together over 50 companies and have shares in 32 others (industries: defense, shipbuilding, new technologies).
