VISIT OF STUDENTS FROM THE UNIFORMED CLASS TO THE BYDGOSZCZ ELECTROMECHANICAL WORKS BELMA S.A.
The meeting was divided into two parts.
The first part was a multimedia presentation, which presented information on the operation and effectiveness of the Company's products manufactured for the country's defence. Students had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with product models. During the lecture, myths and stereotypes circulating around the world around combat mines were debunked. In the past, there were two types of mines available: anti-personnel mines and anti-tank mines. Today, in accordance with the Ottawa Treaty, anti-personnel mines are no longer permitted. The anti-tank mines manufactured in Bydgoszcz Electromechanical Works BELMA S.A. are modern and technologically advanced, equipped with a number of safeguards that guarantee the operator's safety during operation and during the setting of a minefield. Thermal and acoustic sensors used in the products detect combat vehicles in the target zone, and the self-destruction system set for a strictly defined time destroys the mine, leaving the area safe.
The second part of the meeting consisted of practical exercises. The adepts visited the sports and combat shooting range operating on the Company's premises, where the operation of smoke cubes was demonstrated. Each participant could undergo supervised individual instruction in firing a cube and use the smoke effect to take interesting and unique photos. The participants also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the offer of the shooting range itself, where the shooting club instructor presented some of the models of sports weapons.
The meeting took place in a very friendly atmosphere. The opportunity for students to familiarize themselves with modern mine-prevention means was a good and practical lesson for young people starting their "adventure" with the uniform.
